Meet Your Birth Team
Count it all Joy currently has a team of 2, sometimes 3 birth assistants to attend your birth.
My youngest assistant in training is my daughter Jadyn, and sometimes (if a family desires that) we even bring the husband along for prayer, heavy lifting and the support of your partner during the labor, making it a family affair! This sets us apart from any other practice in Arkansas, and it works for people! My husband can be an awesome asset to my team for ME as well, supporting me spiritually and offering his own expertise when I need to bounce ideas off of someone who "gets it" and researches everything heavily. He is the one I trust the most, he stays out of the way, and is not apart of your clinical care. He isn't a hands on part of your experience, but husbands seem to love hanging with him :). The Midwife
Jayde Girardo
My passion for helping women birth their babies, in a natural way, came after my own trials and experiences with birth, the unnatural way, followed by the instinctive and God given ability way. Once you do that, it changes you, and you want to help others do the same thing! I have a passion for education, since knowledge it POWER, and knowledge dispels FEAR of birth. I have a passion for empowering women to take control of how they live their lives, through the power of CHRIST who can live within them, if they allow Him and, I have a passion for walking alongside them as they do this! I can't wait to experience this very intimate time in your life with you!
The Apprentice
Jadyn Girardo
Jadyn is 16, has attended her siblings' homebirths, and has always been a natural when it comes to birth and babies! She has the instincts of care and compassion and has what it takes to be an assistant! She has shown enough interest in reading the textbooks and wanting to attend the births with me, that I have decided it is the time for her to train! The earlier the better! She will attend some of your prenatal, and postpartum appointments, as well as your birth!
The Hubs
Jacob Girardo
My husband Jacob and I had our twins in 2024 at home unassisted, and before that, his late wife and him had 6 home births together! Four of those births were unassisted, one was breech, and one was followed up with a pretty sketchy hemorrhage! They sought the Lord alone in these experiences and were very blessed through it. He has a ton of wisdom that a lot of dads don't have because of it, and this has been a blessing to the dads we've worked with.
During the day, his job is to be a jack of all trades contractor for hire- especially on our homestead! But his other passion is helping families realize the benefits of home birth and birthing on your own terms, and most importantly with the support guidance of the Lord. God brought us together after many trials in both of our lives, and he is such a blessing to have on my side. He is my rock, and my best friend. I glean so much from his Spirit, and his wisdom just as much as my own when it comes to birth...but not just :).
Together, we're strong believers and have a passion for teaching. He is not apart of your prenatal care, unless I am chatting him up and then a family wants to meet him! Once meeting him, some families ask that he come to their birth to add an extra layer of support through prayer, comradery and heavy lifting if necessary. If not needed, he just hangs in the other room in case I need him, OR he doesn't come to your birth at all. He is an optional perk ;).
